St Patrick's Travelling Lodge Irish Constitution

Brethren those of you who attended might have been as surprised as the writer when our own Worshipful Brother Jim Lutton (acting Senior Warden for the night)received his Grand lodge certificate from the Grand Chapter of Ireland. I did not even know he was a Joining member. Congratulations Jim you are now the fourth Niederrhein Brother to be part of the grand Lodge of Ireland as well. Yes Mike Copland like me was an Initiate and David Johnson like Jim a Joiner.

It was a very different evening. Because of their extensive military duties most of the members were not present and therefore David Johnson, Cedric and the writer were asked to stand in and assist. I must say we did our bit quite well -especially Cedric who only became Junior Deacon five minutes before the Lodge opened. The ritual was somewhat changed from the green book (from my Mother Lodge) I was clutching and there was confusion in that they did not have  procession and indeed the deacons ( David and Cedric had it much easier than we had thought because of the changes to the ritual. However good luck to the Lodge and I wish them very well. Including Jim there were 14 brethren from Niederrhein present plus representatives from Bonn, Star of Saxony, Keys of Munster and New Absalom.
